“No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men. There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a third power stronger than both, that of women.” - Malala Yusafzai

Women’s day is an event that reminds us of the achievements that women have accomplished - socially and politically while completely changing the face of gender inequality. Each step taken by every strong woman who was able to fight for her rights deserves to be applauded because that’s the reason why we are able to receive a better chance at a world with equality. In a perfect and ideal world, the message of women empowerment should be all inclusive but the world we live in still gives more power to men than women. “The future is women” is a message to help recognize that women take up half the space on our earth and they deserve to own that space equally because women are still human. Women’s rights is an effort to help tilt the scales towards equality between men and women. If a man/boy asks “Why are there shirts that say girl power but not boy power”, tell them about how women have to go through double standards and gender pay gap. Tell them about how women are considered weak and unstable. Explain to them, how having “periods” and being “pregnant” makes women seem incompetent even though that’s how every man and women are created. Tell them that women are treated as objects merely for pleasure and not real people. Show them how getting a job is easier when you’re a male than female. Women are the future because they are strong and sedulous and they endure every single thing just to have a future equal to that of a man. So yes, women are and will be the future of humanity. Happy Women’s day!

It’s Okay

It’s okay to feel like the world is breaking around you and it’s okay to feel lost. It’s okay to take this time in quarantine to try to accept what’s happening to our world and to rediscover yourself.
